Dismantling Misconceptions Of Anime

by criticalhit009

I discovered this lecture given by anime historian Jonathan Clements recently, and it’s a great exploration of anime’s roots and reception in the West. He uncovers the origins of some of the common myths surrounding anime and debunks them with hard evidence. Definitely worth a watch for the uninitiated. I particularly recommend the first part dealing with Tezuka – Clements describes the origins and processes of the anime industry quite amusingly.
